Home Arts Camp

This hands-on camp will immerse children in a variety of crafts that celebrate natural materials and teach them how to make their own healing products, delicious treats, and beautiful creations from scratch.

We’ll kick off by exploring backyard herbs, learning how to identify common plants in our environment and discovering their healing properties. Children will create their own soothing herbal teas, salves, and body oils that can be used for self-care, all while deepening their connection to the plants around them.

Next, we’ll head into the kitchen for a delicious adventure in sourdough bread-making. Children will uncover the secrets to creating wholesome, flavorful bread from scratch, and then we’ll churn fresh cream into butter, learning how to make rich, golden butter from start to finish. We’ll finish off our kitchen creations by making jam with fresh berries and learning the art of canning, so they can taste these homemade treats for months to come.

In the afternoons, we’ll explore the arts of the earth with hands-on crafts like beeswax candle-making, natural dyeing, soap-making, and weaving. Children will dip their own beeswax candles, use plants to create vibrant, plant-based dyes, and craft luxurious soap bars with just three natural ingredients. Plus, they’ll learn the basics of weaving to create beautiful fabric art, whether on a simple loom or with other natural materials.

This camp gives children ancestral homemaking skills and the confidence that comes with creating something useful with your own hands. Join us for hands-on learning, creativity, and homemade goodness.
