The Hood River Valley Swim Team was established in 1949. It has moved from its small start into a competitive team that presently has participants ranging from 5 to 18 years old plus the active Columbia Gorge Masters Program. We love swimming! We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well rounded competitive swim team. Our team is celebrating 76 years of Swimming in the Gorge in 2025!
The swim team offers "Try The Swim Team For Free" weeks quarterly. This enables you to make sure this is something our swimmer would like to do, and it enables us to make sure your swimmer has the skills needed to be successful before joining. Check out our website above for dates and more information on the swim team. Swimmers need to be able to swim one length of the pool freestyle with side breathing non stop, and be able to swim at least half a length on their back.
