Our Mission

Cooper Spur Alpine Team (CSAT) is dedicated to providing youth with opportunities to develop both as athletes and individuals through competitive alpine sports. Our programs emphasize character strength, respect, and a passion for sports within a supportive and inclusive community.
 

Who We Are

Founded in 1978, CSAT is a Hood River-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fostering a love for alpine sports and character development. We offer year-round training and competition programs for athletes aged 6 to 17 in ski racing, slopestyle, park & pipe, and mountain biking. Our experienced coaches are dedicated to helping each athlete achieve their personal and competitive goals.
 

What We Offer
 

• Winter Programs: CSAT provides training for all skill levels, from high school ski racers aiming for elite competitions to young beginners mastering foundational techniques. Our programs are designed to build skills, confidence, and a lifelong passion for mountain sports.
• Mountain Bike Programs: In the spring and fall, we offer mountain biking programs where young riders develop skills and confidence on the diverse trails of Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. Ability groups range from biking fundamentals to advanced skills such as drops and jumps.

Our Community Impact

In a region where outdoor sports are integral to the local lifestyle, CSAT plays a vital role in motivating youth and building their self-esteem. Our programs instill essential life skills, including leadership, perseverance, respect, honesty, self-discipline, teamwork, and gratitude, preparing participants for future challenges.
